48 pieces of equipment operate 24 hours a day. How to stabilize production capacity?

The factory currently has 48 CNC machining centers, all of which are imported brand equipment. Their maximum processing strokes cover different ranges from 1.2 meters to 2.5 meters. These equipments are distributed in two workshops, operating in two shifts, and the actual processing time per day exceeds 20 hours. In order to ensure the stable operation of the equipment for a long time, the factory is equipped with a full-time maintenance team. Each equipment is accurately calibrated every quarter and undergoes major maintenance once a year. Throughout last year, the average equipment failure rate was less than 2%, indicating that customer orders were rarely delayed due to equipment problems.

From ABS to aluminum alloy, more than ten years of material processing experience

The common materials we process include many types of engineering plastic sheets such as ABS, PP, PC, PMMA, PA, POM, PPS, PBT and bakelite. At the same time, we also process metal materials such as aluminum alloys. The team has mature operating standards for cutting parameters, cooling methods, and tool selection for different materials. For example, when processing POM materials, we adopt a high-speed and low-feed strategy to prevent the material from thermal deformation; when processing aluminum alloys, we use special coolants and coated tools to ensure that the surface finish can reach within Ra1.6.

Large electronic casing processing, full coverage of three-coordinate inspection

Faced with application scenarios such as large electronic casings, new product appearance confirmation, and three-dimensional data analysis and verification, we have deployed a number of three-dimensional coordinate measuring machines. After any part is processed, it must detect key dimensions according to the drawings. The data obtained from the detection is entered into a traceable system. Last year, we manufactured 3,000 sets of casing samples for an electronics company in Shenzhen, and the dimensional qualification rate reached 99.7%, allowing customers to directly enter the warehouse without inspection. This saves a considerable amount of secondary verification time.

There are many customers who require special functional testing during the product development stage, such as dimensional stability testing in high-temperature environments, insulation performance verification under high-voltage conditions, etc. The PPS and PBT parts we process are often used in high-temperature-resistant tooling fixtures; while PC and PMMA parts are mostly used in transparent windows or insulating structural parts. Last year, a company engaged in the new energy vehicle battery business commissioned us to process 500 sets of high-voltage resistant insulating gaskets. The material selected was PEEK, which passed the 10kV withstand voltage test after processing.

With the support of CAD/CAM software, after the customer provides 3D drawings, we can complete programming and tool path optimization on the same day, and start trial cutting the next day. Compared with traditional mold opening and injection molding methods, CNC processing does not require mold preparation time, and is especially efficient for single-piece or small batch production. Last year, there was a medical device company. Its requirement was to complete prototypes of three new products within a week. We worked overtime for three consecutive days and finally delivered the product one day ahead of schedule. The customer directly skipped the mold opening and verification process.

In our technical team, there are 12 programming engineers and 24 machine technicians. Their average industry experience is more than 8 years. The programming staff are all familiar with mainstream software such as UG, Mastercam, and Powermill, and can optimize the processing path based on material properties and part structure. Machine technicians are responsible for clamping and alignment, tool replacement, first-piece self-inspection and other aspects. Each person can independently complete the processing of complex parts. Last year we organized an internal skills competition, and the first place completed the entire processing of octahedral parts within 40 minutes.
